The client drives the corporate career sites of major blue-chip companies such as Tesco, Sainsbury's, Whitbread and Nestlé as well as being a leading recruitment website in its own right.

The company won the title of Best Online Service at the 2004 Recruiter Awards for Excellence and took the title of Best E-Cruitment Service. Judges stated: "Workthing has a clean, user-friendly site with a good search facility and channels dedicated to different industries, allowing candidates full control over their careers." is part of the Guardian Media Group (GMG).

The project was in the process of a redesign and the development team were interested in finding out how the prototype designs would fare in comparison with the major competitors.

Imetrix recruited a sample group of target users to take part in one-to-one tests to discover the strengths and weakness of the new format. The insight gained into competitor services enabled the designers to learn from the mistakes of others and build a better user interface.

The project deliverables included a detailed report outlining finding and recommendations and supporting video footage from the tests.
